Set in the rural wilderness Shotgun follows Billy, a teenager, who has always dreamed of going hunting alongside his grandfather, Cliff. When Billy is offered the chance to demonstrate his skills, they are proven to be sorely lacking. Worried that he’s squandered his chance, Billy is offered the chance to redeem himself the next day but as the hunt continues he’s forced to question what sort of man he wants to become and whether winning the approval of his grandfather or standing by his beliefs is more important to him.

Their relationship explores how masculinity is evolving, and the debate around what it needs to become.
