What Stares Back is a contained supernatural horror developed from the award winning short film Oscar’s Bell.
Set deep within the remote wilderness of Scotland, the story follows a father and son on a camping trip intended to repair their fractured relationship. When their dog disappears into the forest and returns… something about it feels wrong.
As night falls and the isolation closes in, the pair begin to suspect that something in the woods can imitate what it touches.
Told through an intimate father-son perspective, the film blends wilderness survival with creeping psychological dread, exploring the terrifying idea that the person beside you might not be who they appear to be. Beneath the stillness of the forest and the glow of the northern lights, something ancient is watching.
